How User Identification Works
When a logged-in WordPress user visits your site:
- The plugin detects they're logged in
- Their WordPress user ID (prefixed with
wp_), name, and email are passed to the widget - In HelpLane, you'll see their identity in conversations
This means returning users are automatically recognized - no need for them to enter their details again.
WooCommerce Integration
If WooCommerce is active on your site and the option is enabled:
- Customer order count is passed to HelpLane
- Customer lifetime value (total spent) is included
- Currency is automatically detected
This data appears in the conversation sidebar, helping your support team provide better service.
